I was looking to buy a new 2010 Scion xB automatic in early July. All the dealers in NJ I talked to priced the car at MSRP ($17,370; no haggle; it's Scion's "pure pricing").
Then I found on the Internet that a dealer in PA (about 200 miles from Cranbury) was selling the car BELOW invoice, which is $16,545. The price I obtained was $16,176.
So, I worked with the dealer in PA over the phone to finalize the deal, drove 200 miles to the dealership, paid for the car, and drove the new car home.
Once my check for the car was cleared, I called the dealer and asked them to FedEx me the "Certificate of Origin" for the car, so I could title and register the car (need to register the new car within 10 days of purchase).
Once I had the "Certificate of Origin", I went to the MVC near Quaker Bridge Mall to get the title. I transferred the plates (and paid registration) from my old car to the new car.
After paying $60 for the title and tax for the car, I had the car inspected there (using the short "re-inspection" lane), got the inspection sticker (good till 2013) affixed to the windshield, and completed the whole car buying process.
I highly recommend this dealer for getting a good deal (car prices have increased due to the popular "cash-for-clunkers" program; wait till Sept. or Oct. to get the 2010 models if you plan to buy a new car this year):

P.S. All the Scion cars are made in Japan by Toyota. |

Glad you got a good deal in PA. I got a great deal at Freehold Pontiac. It sounds like we would agree, if you want a great deal, do your homework and be willing to zig when others zag. |

LOL!
Yep, I bought the car from the "Fitzgerald Auto Mall, the Chambersburg, Pa., dealer".
The car was at one of their MD locations. I asked the PA sales person to "transport" the car from MD to PA. He was happy to do that.
I think they actually drove the new car from MD to PA, because the mileage on the car when I bought it had 94 miles shown on the document (MVC needs to put the mileage number on the title). |

Where do you wind the car up so it goes? |
