Does anyone really not lock their doors anymore, regardless of whether they know a burglar is on the loose or not?

It depends on where you live. Homes near Rt-130 are more prone to break-in based on reported incidents.

I live in Shadow Oaks. I feel safe here: not many people passing by my home; those do are people living here.

I can't imagine not locking our doors. What is the benefit of doing so -- it's it just better to be safe than sorry? Crime can migrate anywhere on occasion.

For me, sometimes I just forget to lock it. One benefit is that you can get out fast if you need to. A lock prevents coming in and going out.

Get out fast? from what or who? Are you running that late for work?

Dear headupyurbutt,

Dont listen to your paranoid neighbors, after all this is Cranbury. They must not have gotten the memo that Crime is not allowed. Please continue to your doors and windows unlocked. Keep expensive jewelry, electronics, and cash in the safety of your unlocked house. Do you keep it in your bedroom? Awesome. Continue leaving your cars unlocked. I enjoy your GPS,Cell phones, and even loose change.

My friends and I appreciate your stupi... I mean hospitality. Maybe we will start dropping by when you and your children are home at say 2am ( like we did a year or so ago.) That was fun.
