The problem with this rant is that a Christmas tree is still called a Christmas tree, at least by a vast majority of people. I've never heard anyone refer to it as a holiday tree. |

Churches often have a "Holiday Tree" for needy families around the area. The tree is adorned with ornaments that represent each family. You are supposed to take one and then donate holiday gifts for that family, to be distributed to them by the church. In this case, holiday means whatever faith that needy family happens to be. |

I recall Lowes marketed Christmas trees and Holiday trees a few years ago. I don't think it went over well.... |

I dunno what all the fuss is about.
Christmas trees were used by pagans in Germany way before Jesu was born!
It's not really an "official" symbol of Christianity. |

Jesus was Jewish.
He wasn't born on December 25th.
"Christmas" trees don't grow in the middleast, so Jesus probably never saw one.
Jesus would tell you to stop wasting your money on foolish idolatry and give your money to the help the poor. |

Actually, the pagan Yule holiday celebrated with evergreens. The tree wasn't called a "Christmas tree" until sometime in the Middle Ages. The idea really took off in the Victorian period.
I'm just qualifying my previous post. |
