Any truth to the rumor that a deli will be taking up residence in the vacant Cranbury Delights space?

I heard about the cupcakes at Teddy's but I can't figure out where they're coming from. Is Blue Rooster supplying them?

No, it's a home-based business started by two Cranbury mom's called Village Cupcakes. They took a lot of direct orders for Valentine's Day and also are featured at Teddy's. I think they may be coming to the Cranbury Inn too but that's just what I heard.

So, are the cupcakes made at Teddy's or is their store somewhere else? Sorry if these are silly questions...I haven't had my full day's allowance of coffee yet Wink

I believe their cupcakes are made at home and than brought to Teddy's every Friday morning.

I've heard that a bagel shop may take over the former Cranbury Delights location.

That's a serious health code violation. I'm sure the Health Inspector would be interested in hearing about that.

Most diners have their baked goods made off-site. I doubt it is a serious health code violation. I also doubt you know what you are talking about.

Offsite is very different from "made at home". And, in case you wanted to read an excerpt from the health code that deals with this, here you go:

8:24-3.2 Sources, specifications, and original containers and records
(a) Sources requirements include the following:
1. Food in the retail food establishment shall be obtained from a source which is in compliance with applicable State and local laws
and regulations.
2. Food prepared in a private home shall not be used or offered for human consumption in a retail food establishment.

The entire document may be found here: http://www.state.nj.us/health/foodanddrugsafety/documents/chapter24_effective_1207.pdf
