The guy from the police dept. hasn't drawn a chalk outline of the tree as yet.
Maybe cuz of all the rain. |

It appears that the tree is on a County Road [main street] and the county won't take care of it. Anyone else on main street should be aware that they will be responsible if something similar happens. For all we pay in county taxes we should have received some reasonable consideration for things like this and not shift the burden on a homeowner. In the Old Days a bunch of townspeople would have come out and chopped it up for firewood and some good willed farmer would have taken his tractor and pulled the stump to the woods. Yea those were the Good Old Days when we used to look out for our neighbors. Its about time the political powers in town make a call to the county bosses and get this taken care of for our townspeople. If they did that WOOD be the end! |

Cranbury doesn't have any clout in the county to force them to do anything. We never have and never will. We're too small and at the very border of the county.
I don't like that I have responsibility atresia trees, but I hope the town is making this a town wide decision that all trees are home owners. If they make it county only then it is discrimination and I could see a lawsuit over it. |

Can't trust a tree. Just when you think you have a stable relationship, it leaves... |

It seems like you've gotten to the root of the problem. |
