St David’s a clearly risking their IRS status. They say it is non-Parisian, but their agenda is very clearly one sided. I do have concern because at some point someone will call the IRS and it will be an issue for many resid nets in town who are parishioners.

Let's do it. let's go after a church for having a non-partisan group meeting.
Is this Glenn? Glenn, who does not want another house of worship in town because there is not enough tax income? That Glenn? The one on the TC!

If indivisible is non-partisan than so are the young socialists. Look at their candidates. They have never supported 1 Republican and their candidates are far left. They are so blindly Parisian that they can’t see it. Just look at their agendas and speakers.

If the point you’re making is that Glenn is concerned about keeping our property taxes down, then good for Glenn! I’ll gladly vote for Glenn again.

It’s quite precious, Paul, the way you continue to refer to it as a “house of worship.” Like the evil town committee wants to stop some sweet little group of quakers from holding twice weekly silent reflection services in some quaint little chapel. As if some unassuming little band of worshippers would be in the market for a 20 acre property on a major highway. That is what would be referred to as a Megachurch. With thousands of parishioners, which means traffic and noise and use of roads that they will not have to contribute one dime to the upkeep of. I am so glad that Glenn is against this.

My understanding is the house of worship pulled out after hearing the price. So it was Penske or housing. Paul and Barbara who have already used our school system and are in a position to leave town if taxes get too bad prefer housing. Those with kids in the school system that would lose Princeton and face a decision to move and lose value in their homes I think prefer Penske. Given doing nothing was not an option.

Sincerely, can someone who supports the housing over the trucking facility please explain their reasoning. I would like to understand both sides.

This land is in the commercial zone on the town's major commercial highway. The property is near several vehicle repair related facilities that are closer to housing. It appears to be acknowledged that the facility is not in any protected environmental zones and is not violating any environmental protections or requiring any variances as such. Why is it "the worst thing" to happen to Cranbury in decades, exactly? How is it materially worse that the Amazon and Wayfair warehouses built on top of buried WWII explosives, the nearby chemical production facilities, all the truck traffic from the existing warehouses, the turnpike rest stop, the existing auto and truck shops, etc.?

For those who prefer the housing over the truck facility, what exactly is the strategy? Is the goal to merge with the Monroe school district? Or if not, what is the plan for how to support the expansion of the school? Where will it expand too, how will it be paid for, etc.?

What is the data analysis that leads you to believe that the truck facility will hurt property values for the township at large but the need to either merge into another, less well-rated school district or secure bonds to substantially add-onto our existing school and support the higher operating basis would not hurt property values?

I understand the two sides of the thinking on many of the local issues, why some people feel taxpayers paying for a new library construction is worthwhile and some don't, why some feel we need a civil rights commission and some don't. Etc. But I'm having trouble understanding the perspective of those who want substantially more housing in town, or why this facility has been vilified to the extent it has beyond the timing of the election. Please educate me.

Thanks.

houses of worship contribute to Main St and the one on Cranbury Neck is particularly well done. However, it doesn’t make sense to give up rateables on 130 in favor of a house of worship.

This comment is great as it looks like a 20 year old wrote it. I remember a friend years ago telling me “ I used to be a democrat, then I graduated college, grew up and got a job!”

N.J. shutdown now likely, PACs continue to push massive tax hikes | Schepisi

The gladiator battle continues in New Jersey.

The Senate session scheduled for tomorrow has been cancelled meaning the state will in all likelihood shut down this weekend. Once again NO DISCUSSIONS about reigning in costs or cutting additional spending.

The battle is solely over which taxes to raise.

It is interesting to see the groups waiting with their hands out for the Governor’s increased spending and tax hikes.

These are the groups currently supporting his proposed several billion dollar spending increase.

Three PACS for Congressional Districts 3, 5 and 11 each support massive tax increases and increased spending on N.J. residents’ backs while the democratic congressional candidates from those districts are campaigning on claims that they are fiscally moderate:
