Cranbury resident Alan Stefanowicz will be presenting a film documentary on the little-known story of the Donut Dollies, who were young women who volunteered their service with the Red Cross in WWII, Korea and Vietnam.

As Veterans Day 2023 approaches, Alan thought it would be a good way to share the story of some very brave and courageous women who traveled overseas to some of the most remote hostile combat zones.

The Donut Dollies were young woman who volunteered with the Red Cross to provide much needed moral support to our soldiers. These women ranged in age from 21-25, had to have a college degree, and had to be single in order to be considered for the assignments. In addition, it was required that they sign a one-year commitment to serve.

The Donut Dollies documentary will be shown at the Cranbury Public library on Wednesday, November 8 at 1:30PM. Admission is free.
