In my opinion, this home is a victim of bad neighbor. |

In reply to the previous poster who stated they drive past this farm often and have never smelled anything bad, maybe you should have your windows open next time. I drove down Dey Rd 2 weeks ago and once I got to the pig farm, the smell was HORRENDOUS, and that's not an exaggeration. I really can't imagine it smells that way all the time, but even for 1 day it was bad. And to be driving at 45 miles an hour and have the smell be that strong, I'm really not sure how anyone could live near it. |

ok mr realtor - i do not think its a "victim of a bad neighbor" how many neigbors are actually in that area anyway? and that house is so far away from "neighbors" i dont know who would say anything. this has EVERYTHING to do with that nasty SLAUGHTER FARM next to it... we are just on this board telling the truth about what is there what has been there and what is happening there. Until someone does something about that farm then there will always be problems in my opinion. |

If you want to talk about that nasty SLAUGHTER FARM, why not start a discussion of that SLAUGHTER FARM? Why add your comments of that nasty SLAUGHTER FARM here?
That nasty SLAUGHTER FARM is next to this house, as you said above. Isn't it a neighbor of this house?
I think you folks are barking at the wrong tree. If want something done to the SLAUGHTER FARM, talk to people who can help achieve your goals, not by bashing this house. |

Why does everyone keep calling this place a farm? It is not, it is a commercial business. All animals are purchased at a market then brought back to be sold as quick as possible. Is this farming? All our tax money was used to buy the development rights to this farm and they enjoy many tax breaks. You would never find meat from this business sold at Shoprite. It is a gross place where almost anything goes. It stinks and only get by because most business is done early morning and on weekends. They have been fined for voilations and quick to cry it's a farm! Hopefully we will do away with the dept of agriculture so this place can be put out of business. Any one who could defend this place must never have been there. It is not a farm repeat it is not a farm. It is a sick place for sick people who enjoy watching animals being tortured before being killed. Wher are all the animal right people? |

Frankly you seem a little too knowledgeable / invested in hating this place. I have never been there and have no idea what it is like. It may be as bad as you say. But the average person would have no idea about what tax breaks they have or that they have had frequent violations and "cried farm" as an excuse, etc. Perhaps your pleas for attention on this place would ring more sincerely if you were up-front with your specific interest in this place. Are you a neighbor? Someone who has had bad business dealings with them? Just say why you know so much about them, then we can assess how horrific they are... |

This "Slaughterhouse" is in South Brunswick and does not smell all that bad. Occasionally it has a stench but this house for sale sits far back from the road and has a beautiful piece of property. |

We'll if it is in South Brunswick, then it doesn't seem very likely that Cranbury paid to develop the site as the previous poster claims. This whole thread reads like one person's obsession to slander this place for whatever personal reasons as yet to be (and likely never) honestly disclosed. |

How does the slaughterhouse have nothing to do with this house? Isn't it right across the street from this house i.e. whenever you pull in or out of the driveway you would have to look at it, and I'm sure smell it. If I had the money to buy this house and was interested I would want to know what was in close proximity to it. And if the person/people who started this topic were or are neighbors isn't that pretty dumb on their part? I would want a neighboring house of mine to sell for as much as possible, especially in this kind of market. |

Very good point - why would a neigbor want to talk about this place and have a house on the same road??? Doesnt make to much sense to me. I think their are MANY people on this board who have driven past and are commenting, i think there is ONE person on here who is OBSESSED with it being a neighbor. Everyone has their own opinion.... |

You have it backwards. Whoever is posting, neighbor or otherwise, doesn't care one way or another about this house. This topic ceased to be about the house almost from the outset. The person fueling this thread, disproportionately to any other topic here, is focused on the pig farm. They clearly have a major negative issue with this pig farm, well beyond a casual passerby's distaste for the fact that they kill pigs there. I think the previous people were just speculating on it being a neighbor wanting some action that they hope in vain will somehow lead to the pig farm getting shut down or who knows what. But whatever the motive of the person, the point seems correct that they have some particularly vested interest in this farm.
Discussing the pig farm isn’t issue. It certainly is fair that anyone interested in this house should know about it. But this post stopped having new information on it pages ago and now its just a lot of venom.
Or maybe this is the same poster lurking around here of late on all the posts trying to be nasty. The same one falsely posting that another house's price dropped by half or trying to bait others into debates about older residents versus the newer ones with over the topic exaggerated statements, etc. This used to be a very lightly visited but pretty civil and informative board, but someone now is either having fun or just a very negative person. |

I have been reading these posts for awhile ,first time to comment. I live in a nearby town and travel Dey Rd. alot. Also belong to a bike club and sometimes ride Dey Rd. on the weekends. Everytime a group of us ride by on a weekend morning we are amazed at how bad this place stinks. All us wonder how this is permitted. Seems as if every illegal person in N.J. is there and the smell of burning hair is bad. A friend of mine knows people how used to rent there and can tell many stories that ever after seeing what goes on there will make your head spin. So I have a hard time thinking this is only one person writing. Sure many of the people I ride with would love to add their comments. Sounds like a realtor who can't sell this house quickly and make a very large amount of money very quickly wants to point fingers. Question if the smell is really not that bad how come there is never a open house on the weekends? Maybe trying to hide something! Only bad neighbor here is this slaughter house and have to agree is not a farm. |
