LOL!
If you're going to compare Obama to Carter, a stretch, then its fair to compare McCain to Bush, who has an approval rating now lower than even Carter at his worst... Personally I'd take Carter over Bush anyway. |

YEP, Obama did a great job in Illinois, he's what a friend of mine from Illinois sent me about how many times he votes party line or not at all (Voting instead "PRESENT")

They said Mr. Obama cast 4,000 votes in the Illinois Senate and used the present vote to protest bills that he believed had been drafted unconstitutionally or as part of a broader legislative strategy. I bet Palin has made more then 4000 decision in her first year in office and had to actually make a Yes/No decision in all of them. I think I have made at least that many decisions/votes in my business as well this year, so it doesnt impress me just Voting on issues (or should I say abstaining from a vote) What has Obama written or change while in office???
Only co-wrote 2 bills with another senator. But I'm not sure who did most of the homework on those 2.
As with all Infomercials I will switch the channel today, I never want what they are pitching me, no offence Obama.
I bet this will be first/last time of the Political infomercial also. We'll see if it backfires or is accepted by public, but I tend to think all infomercials are bad myself.
On a funnier note, let me gain more experience (the Obama Way)
Bill 23881-12 Vote="Present"
Bill 23891-32 Vote="Present"
Bill 23981-92 Vote="Present"
Bill 23881-19 Vote="Present"
Bill 23991-72 Vote="Present"
Bill 23881-12 Vote="Present"
Bill 24081-33 Vote="Present"
Bill 24281-32 Vote="Present"
Bill 24481-52 Vote="Present"
Bill 24681-38 Vote="NO"
Bill 24781-26 Vote="Present"
Bill 24781-72 Vote="Present"
Bill 24881-43 Vote="Present"
Bill 24981-32 Vote="Present"
I just gained some Obama experience for being President some day |

Jimmy Carter had more experience than Obama . He was a Navy man, businessman, state senator, and governor before becoming president. Obama's accomplishments pale in comparison.
Jimmy Carter was better internationally than for problems here at home and his approval rating was dismal while president (but so was abraham Lincoln's).
However, he must have done something right during that time; that is the reason he won the Nobel Peace prize in 2002.
According to Nobel's will, the Peace Prize should be awarded "to the person who shall have done the most or the best work for fraternity between nations, for the abolition or reduction of standing armies and for the holding and promotion of peace congresses.
From Wikipedia:
As president, Carter created two new cabinet-level departments: the Department of Energy and the Department of Education. He established a national energy policy that included conservation, price decontrol, and new technology. Foreign oil imports were reduced by 50% from 1977 to 1982.[2] In foreign affairs, Carter pursued the Camp David Accords, the Panama Canal Treaties and the second round of Strategic Arms Limitation Talks (SALT). Carter sought to put a stronger emphasis on human rights; he negotiated a peace treaty between Israel and Egypt in 1979. His return of the Panama Canal Zone to Panama was seen as a major concession of U.S. influence in Latin America, and Carter came under heavy criticism for it. The final year of his presidential tenure was marked by several major crises, including the 1979 takeover of the American embassy in Iran and holding of hostages by Iranian students, a failed rescue attempt of the hostages, serious fuel shortages, and the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan.

I can't beleive the world series game was delayed for the showing of Obama's infomercial. Shame on NBC. He is not our president yet. Would they have done that for McCain too. I doubt it. |

I didnt see it but the best comment I saw on the front page of the web was:
Quote: | John Frank, a political analyst in Eau Claire, Wis., said there was a clear lesson for voters:
“Don’t believe everything you hear in a 30-second commercial, whether it’s a politician or a new chair for your living room.” |
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/27441780/page/2/
There was nothing particularly special about the ad itself — which conjured up images of a country crying out for change against a suitably patriotic background — except for its length.

Call it the Rocky Mountain road to the White House.
CNN's new Electoral College map shows Obama leading in several GOP-leaning states.
A new state poll suggests that Sen. Barack Obama has doubled his lead over John McCain in Colorado.
In a CNN/Time/Opinion Research Corp. survey released Wednesday, 53 percent of likely voters questioned say Obama is their choice for president, with 45 percent backing Sen. John McCain. That 8-point lead for Obama is double the 4-point advantage he held in a similar poll two weeks ago.
"Older voters in Colorado have started to break Obama's way," CNN Polling Director Keating Holland said. "Two weeks ago he was losing the over-50 crowd by a couple of points. Now he has a 5-point edge among them."

|

Barack Obama’s decision not to accept taxpayer financing for his general election campaign turned money into a central issue of the 2008 presidential race.
When all is said and done, the two champions of campaign finance reform, Obama and John McCain, will go down in history as the first two major party nominees to spend a combined $1 billion.
That figure, which doesn’t include the money shelled out by their national parties, was widely predicted at the start of the 2008 election cycle. The surprise is that it was reached with one candidate playing inside the limits imposed by the presidential financing system and the other staying outside of them.
But having money and spending it wisely are often two different things....

Direct spending by Presidential campaigns has always been one spoke in the campaign spending wheel. The Republicans in particualr have long been brilliant and much more successful than the Democrats at get much funding directed toward the national parties which in turn focus it on spending for the presidential candidate above and beyond their direct limit. Even more effective is spending directly by third party interest groups, which has no limitations at all and doesn't even have to have a "I approve this message" so it can be more negative, like the famous "swift boat" ads. The real surprise this year was tha Obama's fundraising prowess exceeded even that of the RNC, which combined with the interest groups having less cash then before gave Obama a clear spending advantage in the last month of the election. He didn't "break" any rules or laws. And McCain and the Republicans absolutely would have raised and much and spent it all if they could have. McCain didn't stay within the public financing on principle. He counted on the RNC and was, blind-sided by Obama who had said he would discuss the decision with McCain first. That is the one point that Obama should be legitimately criticized about -- his not discussing with McCain first as promised. But the rest is all nonsense. |

It's funny.
Obama's catch word "Change" is simple and effective in this election. |

TV is soo old school, but the real story for Obama is how he got funding via the Web and magnified his message via new internet technology. We will see how active younger voter will be in the election, but the message via YouTube, Facebook, and online Websites like the links in above forum posts are very effective for Obama. I would say even more effective then the millions he has spent on TV. A Facebook founder was the key driver of this effective online use.
