DORIA: NJ Mayors "Crying Wolf" Over COAH
By Zebulon Pike | January 28, 2009

Have a listen to what Joe Doria said during Monday's Community and Urban Affairs Committee meeting on COAH:

http://www.njleg.state.nj.us/media/archive_audio2.asp?KEY=SCU&SESSION=2008

----

At 26:40 Doria says “As a former mayor I used to cry wolf and I understand the role sometimes in crying wolf”

(TRANSLATION: "to raise a false alarm")

At 33:20 Doria says “sometimes you have to grandstand…I’ve done it many times”

(TRANSLATION: "to conduct oneself or perform showily or ostentatiously in an attempt to impress onlookers")

----
Is Doria really saying that New Jersey mayors are simply imagining the huge financial strain on their communities caused by COAH regulations?

That'll win Corzine some votes! Poor Joe Doria must be taking notes from Joe Biden...

Notice that Linda Greenstein is also failing to offer any comment. Yet, we had people defending her both residents and TC members. Those who said lets see what she can do have now seen and those who said she was only in it for self interest have been shown right so far. All of the bills issued and no comments from Linda or her office.

IMO, her political gamesmanship is being seen for what it is now and she's stuck in the middle. Some of the Democrats who supported the bills have now said they need to be revised. Others are still in support. Linda is now stuck in the middle of the game. She's trying to see where the biggest support goes and will go there at the end of the day. Wayne is a continued lost cause. Baroni is still our only advocate.

There is no middle ground for Lind Greenstein on fixing COAH3 for Cranbury and the rest of her constituency. As I see it, no public comment from her office in support of Bill S-2292 means that she is fine with the current messed up implementation of COAH3. You can not ABSTAIN from public comment on this issue Linda. Neither can the rest of the NJ Assembly that is up for re-election this year. All Cranbury voters will remember this, and I recall that DeAngelo only won by a slim margin last time. Cranbury voters can easily erase his opportunity for re-election if we all vote for his opponent. This should be a no-brainer for Cranbury voter as DeAngelo has never represented Cranbury or attended any of our meetings.

It is possible that Joe's days of "crying wolf" and "grandstanding" aren't completely behind him.
