How dare anyone say ANYTHING bad about your FC. These people have sacrificed countless hours or their time and lives to save others. They lose sleep, lose family time. And this is how we are repaying them.
Can someone please name the ONE person who even wanted any of this started?
If we lose our FC we are all screwed. But as much as these poor guys are getting pushed I wouldnt be surprised if they leave sooner then later. Why even bother with the disrespect they have been shown buy a lot of people in this town.
And the TC get PAID for what they do and its a great resume builder for them. I cannot take what is happening in our small town. It is very very sad. |
wait, crap I can't leave now that I know it's you 1q6r. Good 'ol 1q6r. you dirty dog you. your the guy that made it seem like the volunteer TC that paid $27K for in 2021 (total) is "PAID" and the FC that we paid $644K (260K of which capital, rest operational, mostly "other") for is just simple VOLUNTEERs. I'll give it to ya 1q6r, you still can deliver the outrage when needed |
You are quoting figures from the Fire Marshall which is not the Fire co. But is part of construction. They do fire alarm inspections, egress, etc… and they do have costs as any other town hall employee.
Just everyone stop already. The misinformation is insane. |
In all seriousness, the last thing I want to do is add to the misinformation or let a typo undermine an important point.
So, yes, sorry, the Fire Marshall ("Official") is the 107K (51 salary/ 56 other)
The Fire Company got $35K LPSAP, $172K "Fire Other Expenses" $106K "aid to Fire Co" (and then the capital being $10K to paint the fire house hallway and $250K for Air Packs). There is also a $43,058
The info is here and the point holds. https://www.cranburytownship.org/sites/g/files/vyhlif4296/f/uploads/certified_adopted_2021_budget.pdf
Thanks for getting the band back together here this afternoon guys, it was fun and definitely showed how ridiculous this whole thing is |

Hopefully all the noise will end. The Fire Co and town have an agreement that works for both of them.

Mayor’s Update on the Proposed Cranbury Volunteer Fire Company Ordinance
Dear Cranbury Residents,
I am pleased to announce that we have worked together with the leadership of the Cranbury Volunteer Fire Company to endorse amendments to proposed Ordinance 11-22-10 at the December 12th Township Committee meeting.
The proposed Ordinance was introduced to close a gap identified this year: the Cranbury Township Code does not currently include any reference to the relationship between the Cranbury Volunteer Fire Company and the Township. In partnership with the Cranbury Volunteer Fire Company leadership, the amended ordinance summarizes and clarifies the current roles and responsibilities, funding, and financial operation of the Fire Company. It does not de-fund the fire company, nor does it take any control away from the Fire Company to serve as the sole provider of fire services to our town.
I have received a statement from Richard Zimmer, President of the Cranbury Volunteer Fire Company, agreeing with the amendments to be made to the proposed ordinance, stating that, “The membership and officers of the Cranbury Volunteer Fire Company would like to take the time to thank all of the residents of Cranbury Township for their support of the fire company over the past few weeks. We are happy to announce that once mutual negotiations began between the Township Committee members and the Cranbury Volunteer Fire Company on an agreement to the ordinance proposed by the Township Committee, that both sides were able to come to an agreement which satisfies both sides' interests.”
The required process forward includes a reading of the further proposed amendments to the ordinance at the December 12th Township Committee meeting, with a public hearing on those amendments at the December 19th meeting. A final vote for adoption will take place at the December 19th Township Committee meeting.
Finally, I would like to thank the residents for their continued engagement and commitment to Cranbury.
Best Regards,
Mayor Barbara Rogers |

uh huh? Go back under your bridge troll. I'm done with your nonsense and misinformation. this is exactly what the TC said they wanted and specifies it's not what DeSantis and the crew tried to scare Cranbury it was. |

The President is correct to assume that "all of Cranbury" supports the VFC. It was a minority of Cranbury that supported the way this was handled. I jokingly dubbed them "DeSantis" when I made the connection today, but in all sincerity, whoever this person is they need to go:
anon-no7o wrote: | The Cranbury of yesteryear is done. It’s been replaced by power hungry woke leftist’s. One of their key words is “diversity”, which is ironic since they are all upper middle class white people, who have chosen to raise their families in a predominantly white, upper middle class municipality. The other key word is “inclusion.” Another irony because they are only interested in “inclusion” if you have the exact same social and political ideology as they do. To put it simply they are bullies. It is all fake. You have to hand it to them they are clever. They figured out a way to manipulate the electorate and they ran with it. | [/quote]

A "professional fire department"??? You should stop by the firehouse when they are training and tell them all that they are not "professional". That when they put out fires or cut people out of vehicles in accidents, that they are only amateurs. But yeah, let's pay "professionals" to do the same thing our VOLUNTEERS are doing currently. Great idea... |
It's not terrible advice, I am too sensitive sometimes. Stop being so dumb and indignant- you have an organization that doesn't even have a website in 2022 and you think the town needs to revolves around you and your high school buddies fire club |
Hey 2qn2 - you are the one who is starting a lot on here. So why not just stop now. Next week they will decide. We either have a fire company or we are all unsafe and do not have one. But looks like you have way to much time on your hands. And believe me no one is going to hurt you if you came to a meeting. People are not going to get violent. But you are annoying and need to let it go!! |
Ok, I'm gone. good luck |
You said you were gone and have to keep commenting. Just stop. Enough of your trouble making. It's done. Try to figure out something else to do then call people names on here and start arguments. Maybe leave your house and meet some friends. People are crazy on this board. All keyboard warriors. This guy likes to type alot but he even said he's to scared to meet anyone in person. Just stop. It's over. Find a new hobby now please. |

Why do you come to that conclusion? What exactly in the statement or the new draft ordinance are you referring to? |

I don’t see how a piece of paper can be a winner or loser. If both parties are fine then to me that is all that matters. If the point of this is because people wanted the TC to have oversight and the TC agrees that whatever this looks like achieves that then trust the TC.
If the Fire Co feels that there are things that they needed to operate and they feel this agreement achieves that then you need to trust the Fire Co.
There shouldn’t be any discussion either way. |

Another thing we get stuck with by people that no longer live here or won’t in another decade. |

I don’t agree with how this Ordinance helpful for the fire department. Ordinances are not normally mutually beneficial.
Why did the TC jump to push an Ordinance rather than a long term contract between Cranbury Township and the Cranbury Fire Dept? After all, the fire dept is a separate nonprofit entity.
How is this any different than our contractual agreement that we maintain with the Princeton High School? |
