Historian, friend and role model passes away
Cranbury has lost one of its best-known daughters.
Emma Chamberlin Forman Stults, 86, died Oct. 17 in Santa Fe, N.M., where she had been living with her daughter, Harriet (Holly) Stults, since October 2005.
Ms. Stults was well known around Cranbury; not just for everything she did, but more importantly, for who she was.
One of the most telling examples of this is her daughter Holly Stults' account of Ms. Stult's correspondence with friends.
"She was a very friendly lady. People loved her and she had a lot of friends," Holly Stults said. "I helped her with her correspondence. Almost as soon as she got here, she'd say 'Honey, we have to write a letter now.' "
"At 86, she received 50 Christmas cards," Holly Stults said. "It's a real credit to how well she kept in touch with people."
