Evans Tract yard sale gets new management

Victor Scire hopes to expand the Evans Tract yard sale.

For 19 years, resident Victor Scire thought the annual Evans Tract yard sale was really neat, even though the road he lives on, Stockton Drive, has never been included in it. Now, he's decided to take over running the event, and plans to expand it to include his neighborhood and others.

"We've participated by sharing space at a friend's house over on Evans Drive and, for the past few years, I've been wanting to do it right in my own driveway. So, I saw an article a couple months ago that said they're looking for someone to spearhead it this year, so I said, 'Why don't I give it a try?' "

Evans Drive residents Betty and Leo Fenity coordinated the event from 1989 until 2004, when it was taken over by former Griggs Tract resident Anne Way. The following year, it was run by Oak Lane resident Edith Dlugokencki. And now Mr. Scire is taking the torch and expanding the event to include Stockton Drive and Bergen Drive residents.
