Cranbury voters approved the district's $16.7 million spending plan million school budget by a 2-to-1 ratio, Tuesday.
They also re-elected two incumbents, Julie Hardaker and Joan Weidner, to serve on the school board and voted newcomer Wendi Patella to fill a seat formerly held by Adam Hawes, who did not seek re-election.
Ms. Patella, who will join the board after its reorganization meeting May 1, said she is pleased with the results of the election and is looking forward to working with board members in the coming months.
Of the 432 people who voted, 290 supported the budget, which includes a $15.5 million tax levy.
The budget also includes a 3.4 percent increase in the cost for salaries and wages, up from $5.8 million in 2006 to $6 million in 2007. It also includes $910,236 to cover debt service, $4.1 million to cover Princeton High School tuition for 253 regular students and 12 special education students and $1.8 million for employee benefits.
Cranbury School Chief School Administrator Carol Malouf said she was pleased the budget passed by a wide margin.
