Voters in Cranbury, Jamesburg and Monroe were split when it came to who they support for state Senate and Assembly seats.

Districtwide, Republican Assemblyman Bill Baroni, of Hamilton, won a four-state Senate seat with 33,136 votes, defeating Democrat Seema Singh of South Brunswick, who received 20,000 votes.

In the race for two, two-year seats for Assembly, incumbent Democrat Linda Greenstein, of Plainsboro, received 28,172 votes; Democrat Wayne DeAngelo, of Hamilton, received 25,037 votes; Republican Thomas Goodwin, of Hamilton, received 24,245 votes; Republican Adam Bushman, of Jamesburg, received 23,663 votes; Libertarian Jason M. Scheurer, of West Windsor, received 17,700; and Libertarian Ray F. Cragle, of West Windsor, received 1,373.

Mr. DeAngelo will take over the Assembly seat previously held by Mr. Baroni.

In Cranbury, Mr. Baroni defeated Ms. Singh by a vote of 695 to 324.

In Jamesburg Mr. Baroni defeated Ms. Singh, by a vote of 552 to 336.

In Monroe, Ms. Singh outpaced Mr. Baroni 6,322 votes to 5,812.

Mr. Baroni, a two-term Assemblyman, will begin his four-year state Senate term in January. The seat was previously held by Republican Peter Inverso, who announced his retirement in March after 16 years in office.
