Has anyone checked this house out? Are you kidding me? This house is way over priced - if the outside is not bad enough - check out the inside. Plus it is backed up to a large building with no privacy. I guess the owner is dreaming to get this price.
PS - If you walk by the house check out the "red neck wind chimes"
WOW! |

Is it just me or are prices for housing in this town VERY over priced? Does anyone who is selling realize that at these prices most likely their houses will not sell. Look at the economy - prices on houses everywhere are going down. I bet in the next year houses around here will be even lower then they are today. |

You are probably right that prices will continue to decline for a while. And prices already definitely have come down. But the recent sales prove for many houses they haven't come down that much around here. There was a house listed pretty high -- well above the tax reassessment which should have been the peek of the prices, that sold in less than a week on Liedke. |

The one in Liedke might be different. what I heard is that the seller had put a lot on home improvemnt (kitchen, lanscape etc.) and the buyer lived in Cranbury as well and had been keeping eyes on properties on Liedke. Most likely if some houses in Shady brook or Cranbury heights come out they will be gone quickly too, as some posts here have shown interests in these neighborhood. who knows... |

Real Estate in Mercer and Middlesex counties have only declined 8%. Cranbury is an extremely desireable town, especially for those with school age children. At 649,000, this house is a real bargain. |

Adalgo - I am not sure if you have seen this house or not. But the inside and outside needs so much work. At this price anyone who buys this house must just want to be on Main Street. This house is NOT a deal plus the privacy issue, do you really want a bunch of plumbers looking at you all day? A BIG PLUMBING SHOP IS BEHIND IT!!!!!!! |

What is wrong with plumbers? Before all the yuppies started invaiding Cranbury, there used to be nothing but regular working class people here and farmers. |

Well us "yuppies" who moved here helped this town out tremendously and it is because of us "yuppies" who moved here that you "working" people and "farmers" are still in this town! |

I happen to know the people who run the plumbing shop behind this house very well. Not only are they great people, but they have helped me out through the years when i needed a hand , no matter what time of day or night and weekends. If I didnt own a home here in Cranbury already, I would be proud to have them as my neighbor. |

Wow, not so sure about that statement. I grew up here as did my parents. I can tell you from the increased housing to losing the apple orchard to the growth in the school and town employees, I am not so sure you've done much other than increase housing costs.
Cranbury has always, ALWAYS, had a great school system, a wonderful historic area and it used to be surrounded by open land. To attribute anything to a result of simply new people or "Yuppies" being the driving force are sorrly mistaken and shows a misunderstanding of the Cranbury culture.
Our neighbors were teachers, Rutgers professors, lawyers and doctors. We had commutters to New York and people who worked at the local pharmacy and in the local service industry (plumbing, electric, etc...).
I find most new people move here for the same reasons that us long term residents stay. Friendly people (for the most part), nice town and parks and small town atmosphere. Our elections are clean, our councils work together despite differing views and we see our neighbors walking, at the library, Teddy's or at Church on Sunday. We know each other and our neighbors will usually look after our home when we're away. The town is a solid one and has a solid foundation. |
