Local organizations outline goals

CRANBURY — The new year is just a few days old, but already people are looking ahead to 2008.
Township groups are no different, and many have big plans for the next 12 months.
Library
A project that began in 2007 will extend into the New Year as the Cranbury Library Board of Trustees plans to focus on community feedback for improvements.
The report will be composed of local focus groups’ concerns, hoping they will better know the needs of the library by listening to its patrons, said Frank Brennan Jr., library board president.
”Our major goal is to continue and complete an assessment of services and facilities for the library,” said Mr. Brennan. “Depending on the report we will proceed from there to improve services and if necessary improve the facilities, however we can do that.”
Once the report comes out in the spring, the board expects to report the results back to the township as well as the Township Committee, he said.
In an era of technology, Mr. Brennan said, the board is hoping that the library will make leaps and bounds in this area as the future director, Marilynn Mullen, is in the final stages of selecting her replacement as technology services librarian.
