By Lorraine Sedor

The first exhibit of the new year will open at the Gourgaud Gallery this evening, Friday, Jan. 4. Meet the artist, Jim Morgan, while viewing his Recent Landscapes exhibit at the gallery from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Mr. Morgan is a very talented artist from Princeton who works in pastels.

Recent Landscapes will be on display at the gallery, located in Town Hall, through Jan. 27. The gallery is open weekdays during township business hours, and on Sundays from noon to 3 p.m.

Looking ahead to February, the gallery will host the A-TEAM Artists of Trenton. The second annual Art from the Heart show will feature the work of patrons of the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen. As was the case with last year’s exhibit, art from the A-Team will be available for sale.

This Sunday, Jan. 6 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. is the final opportunity to visit the Cranbury Museum to view the exhibit Heart of the Home. The display features table settings and kitchen equipment of the 1930s and ‘40s.

It also will be the last opportunity for visitors to place a silent bid on the vintage — but mint condition — enameled small gas stove that has been a highlight of the exhibit, as well as the last time to view the nostalgic Christmas decorations in all the rooms throughout the house.
