The time has come for people to throw their hats in the ring.
Candidate kits are available for those interested in running for the school boards of Cranbury, Monroe and Jamesburg.
Those interested in obtaining the kits can download them from the New Jersey School Boards Association Web site at www.njsba.org/candidacy or they can be obtained from the local school district offices.
The term of service on the school board is three years for those elected. The deadline for filing is 4 p.m. Feb. 25.
In Cranbury, three positions are up for grabs, as the terms of Kenneth Griffin, Frank Ransegnola and Elizabeth Silverman are expiring.
”Our schools reflect the values of our community,” said Cranbury Chief School Administrator John Haney. “We really appreciate the insight and input we get from our school board members.”
In Monroe, three positions are up for election, as the terms of Kathy Kolupanowich, Kathy Leonard and Joseph Homoki are expiring.
”The school boards are important for getting people involved with the education of our children,” Ms. Kolupanowich said. “We’re raising the next generation of possible doctors, lawyers and maybe even presidents of the United States; their education should be important to everyone.”
