Young inventors show off their wares at tech program.
Velcro socks, experiments on electricity and the effects of caffeine on plant growth were just some of the hundreds of projects spread throughout the cafeteria, auditorium and hallways during Cranbury School's annual Science and Technology Exhibition.
The scientific method was the centerpiece of the Feb. 17 fair, and to show off their knowledge, fourth-graders created practical inventions, fifth-graders built simple machines, and sixth-, seventh- and eighth-graders conducted experiments by posing questions to problems, developing a hypothesis, testing that hypothesis and drawing conclusions from the data.
Bridget Lundquist, a sixth- and seventh-grade science teacher and an organizer of the exhibition, said students' projects combine practical interests with scientific knowledge.
