A. Planning Board Meeting March 5, 2009
1. Kirstie attended this meeting. She had sent the Planning Board a letter in December requesting wording to be changed in the Master Plan. In this letter, Kirstie had proposed that “The plan for moving the library to a standalone building is, however, not projected to occur in the foreseeable future.” be changed to “The plans for moving the library to a standalone building are dependent on project feasibility reports including financial projection, Cranbury Public Library Board of Trustees’ findings, and the Township Committee approval.” in the Proposed Open Space-Recreation section.

Not surprising. They have a definitive plan, along with Pari, Richard and David on the TC, to put the Library at the PNC site and are simply paving the way for the pre-determined results of their study.

Odd how nobody objected to the baseball field to nowhere, but, the thought of a ...............dare I say the word?.................a LIBRARY............is enough to send the shivers up their conservative........er...........um.............uh.............is spines the right word here? I don't believe that conservatives have spines, but, for lack of better word. Vertebral chordates!

There was opposition to the ballfield and as the other poster stated it was the Dems on the TC that pushed it through. So even though I find it funny people trying to make watching tax dollars a negative thing, you need to look at the fact that the conservatives have been the minority members of our TC for a while now and that's one reason why our taxes are where they are today.

The TC was Michael Mayes- Rep and Dems- Beauregard, Panconi, Stannard, Stave. So let's not re-write history.

Mr. Jack Ziegler, 9 Prospect Street, spoke concerning his displeasure with having to wait until after the Township Committee voted on the Resolution for the award of the bid for the Babe Ruth Baseball Field to speak and not being allowed to speak before the adoption of the Resolution. Mr. Ziegler objected to the Township spending $300,000 for a baseball field without getting input from the public beforehand. Mr. Ziegler referenced the Township spending “a fortune” on remediation of the property already. Mr. Ziegler stated by the time everything is done, the cost will be $500,000.....

Mr. Arthur Hasselbach, Route 130, spoke concerning his displeasure with the Babe Ruth Baseball Field and its expense. Mr. Hasselbach mentioned he had attended the meeting on Open Space and had also read the report which stated, “at this time a Babe Ruth Baseball Field was not needed”. ....
