What's your favorite place to get a kid's birthday cake from?

I hear Cranbury Delights makes great birthday cakes. I believe one of the proprietors is a master baker. Someone told me they can prepare any style cake you want. They also offer many theme type cakes. Their products are supposed to be all natural.

Both of the previous posters beat me to the punch. You add 5 pounds just walking into Mendokers and smelling the goodies! They have some terrific treats.

McCaffreys has also been quite good in our experience.

We really like Wegman's cakes. Their regular sheet cakes can be ordered with pudding filling and whipped cream icing. They also have "Ultimate Chocolate Cake" and "Ultimate White Cake" which are indeed ultimate, and they'll write whatever you want on the top.

I always ask if the cakes are baked at the stores and I found most are not. They are baked in big bakeries in PA and trucked in.
I would say Mendokers would be your best bet. It might cost a little more but it's worth it.

Yesterday I stopped by Cranbury Delights for a scoop of ice cream and lo and behold, they were baking pies on premise. Nothing beats the scent of freshly baked Apple, Cranberry Apple or Pumpkin pie. I believe their ice cream is also made on premise. Bottom line ... no "big bakeries and no trucks" ... just old fashion TLC.

Our wedding cake came from the Cookie Cottage in Hamilton and their cakes were great. Baked on site.

The reference to stores that do not bake at their location are the big food stores such as Shop Rite, McCaffreys, Super Fresh. Cranbury Delights is excellent and they do custom baking.
