TRENTON — A 43-year-old Cranbury man was arrested in Saturday night’s stabbing of 55-year-old Lamont Williams in a fight over a woman in the 800 block of Fairmount Avenue.
The suspect, Rodney R. McFadden, is “the victim’s girlfriend’s ex-boyfriend,” police said. Detective Samuel Gonzalez learned this while investigating the stabbing of Williams, who was being treated at St. Francis Medical Center.
“The incident occurred during an argument that the victim had with the suspect, which turned into a physical altercation, with McFadden (allegedly) stabbing the victim twice,” reported TPD spokesman Pedro Medina.
“(Williams) was admitted to the hospital and listed in stable condition,” Medina reported.
“During the investigation, McFadden, who suffered a small laceration to the left side of his neck, arrived at St. Francis to be treated, at which time he was taken into custody.”
McFadden was booked on aggravated assault and weapons offenses. |
