First, Greenstein and DeAngelo supported COAH reform that would have killed our town. Now, we have re-elected two of the leading people who want to stop fiscal reform from happening in government. Notice the vote was only 5 against the pension reform bill today and 2 of the 5 are our own representatives. And in truth the one changed his vote later so the vote was really 4 against. At least we can't say they followed the leadership this time, the leadership supported the bill.

Even her comments show she's more concerned about being a Senator and the upcoming election.

TRENTON - Assembly Minority Leader Alex DeCroce (R-Parsippany) moves the amended S-2 for an emergency vote, and then moves the bill.

It passes, 62-5-9.

Assemblywoman Linda Greenstein (D-Plansboro), Assemblyman Wayne DeAngelo (Hamilton), Assemblywoman Bonnie Watson Coleman (D-Ewing), Assemblywoman Annette Quijano (D-Elizabeth), and Assemblyman Albert Coutinho (D-Newark) oppose the bill. (Coutinho later changed his no vote to yes).

The other pension reform bills also pass.

"For me, the main problem in the bills was the lack of respect for collective bargaining," explains Greenstein, the Democratic candidate in a special election for state senate in District 14.

Settling for the opt out provision, the unions had wanted other concessions from the governor in the case of S-2.

Particularly galling to their ranks was the x-out - retained in the bill - of the non-forfeitable right, a negotiated safeguard against executive or legislative reduction of benefits for new employees.

Linda Greenstein is running for Bill Baroni's Senate seat this November. Do we really want someone with her track record representing (but not supporting) Cranbury?

Of course not. But it won't matter. She will win anyway. For one, because she will get the Union vote throughout the district which is why she said what she did. Second, because Cranbury's opinion is almost inconsequential unless our voters were totally united, and even then it probably wouldn't be enough. More importantly, a lot of Cranbury voters don't read this site or do anything else to become informed on local issues. Look how many voted for DeAngelo even though not a single Cranbury voter in their right mind would do so if they understood his contempt for our Township and constant effort to try and legislate us out of existence. Many people just blindly vote the party line.

Its sad in this day and age, when information is so abundant and easy to access, that people would still remain ignorant and vote party lines with nothing else to support the vote. Our forefathers are turning in there grave knowing the sacrifice they made during the revolutionary war to give democracy to the people is mostly wasted on the lazy voter or nonvoter. I just hope they are toooo lazy to even vote, and are not counted. Sy Sims made the best quote here "An educated consumer is our best customer", think same attitude should be taken by voters to have pride in a good vote placed, instead of a good shopping spree. A bad vote may affect you for a long time, but that 10% savings on a sale item is short lived. Keeping Linda out of the Senate will be one of the most important votes we will make this year on a local level, that an the budgets this year. I'll keep educated on both, and have already been following Linda for a long time and do not want her in office to represent me nor the 14th district. I just need to do more research on her opponent next.
