WEST WINDSOR -- Commuters, take heed: Route 64 will close overnight and remain closed for the remainder of the week for resurfacing.
Starting last night, the state Department of Transportation (DOT) will shut down the road between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. through tomorrow, weather permitting.
Route 64 is the quarter-mile extension of Princeton-Hightstown Road that passes over the Northeast Corridor rail line between Cranbury Road and Washington Road.
All drivers headed to the Princeton Junction train station, as well as traffic from Route 1 and Princeton-Hightstown Road (also known as County Road 571), will be directed onto Alexander Road, which runs parallel to Princeton-Hightstown Road.
The DOT will be resurfacing the roadway and bridge.
