One other concern is the duplication of the library resources. I was told the school will have to increase its budget to replace those resources[books-tapes-periodicals ] etc. That will be one more duplicate expense to the taxpayers. This gets more expensive all the time.

Again, the TC has openly stated that prior to breaking ground the library has to prove they can operate on the current tax structure. There will be no additional funding beyond the legal requirement.

Does anyone know the date the bids are due?

And, will the price of the bids received be posted somewhere?

When bids are received there will be an agenda item for a TC meeting and they will be presented. The bid opening is also public.

You were fed misinformation. The collections are separate.

While the libraries consider them separate, do the children using them feel that is the case? Of course, both libraries will ask for more resources.

Also, the library pays the school rent for use of the facility. If the library moves, the schools expenses don't go down. Will that money be available for the school or will another tax increase be needed by the school to make up for the shortfall.

You are completely misinformed. The school charges them based on the hours that school is not in session when the school must provide maintenance staff with black seal permit. The school will lose no income if library leaves.

That is correct. The library has evening hours, hours during school holidays, and weekend hours where it costs the school to have that space open. When/if the library leaves there is no cost to the school so the rent loss does not have an impact. The rent works out to less than $1K a week.

The current library hours are set for the convenience of the full-time librarians and to maximize crossover hours with the school in order to support the "need" for a new library. Think about how happy the librarians will be when they finally get rid of the distraction of your annoying kids and they have the library all to themselves all day long.

Promise I will not reply any more. You are now making stuff up as you go along. You are clearly a Troll who gets his sad little jollies having people respond to you online. How very sad for you.

Is the library maintaining these hours if they get a new building. An important part of the library is the new community center. A community center should be open when people want to use it for meetings, events, etc. in the evenings and weekends when the library is closed. Having staff and utilities cover for the extended hours covered in the library budget neutral proposal?

Name calling does not change the facts. The library is open at the convenience of the librarians, and not for the patrons. Over the years, the library has expanded hours than conflict with the school and cut back on hours that do not conflict with the school and are more convenient for patrons; all the while "justifying the need" for a new library on the basis that the library conflicts with the school. Look at the long holidays weekends, short weeknight, weekend hours and summer hours. It's a joke (on us).

Think about it like this... Hardly anyone uses the library, except for the school kids, and yet we are going to give them millions of dollars to move the library out of the school. Brilliant!

The joke has been on us for a number of years. The Cranbury Library Foundation has been able to raise funds over the years by way of using the operating surplus from the library budget. With the mandated state contribution the library receives from our taxes, the new library was only a matter of time. They just had to wait for the annual surplus' to add up. My major concerns (beyond not needing the library - current parking spaces never filled now), is the added property maintenance that the township will assume; added difficulty for school children during the day (if at all possible); added school expense (absolutely will be); added operating expenses for the library and impact on our tax liability. I don't know if our state obligations go up because the library is larger and its expenses increase. I've voiced my displeasure to township officials, as have others, but the resolution has passed. As I mentioned above anyway, the library could be built by the surplus alone, even without the township involved.

All of your claims have been disputed over and over again. Get off of and over it already.
