From the feedback we have received, there was a positive reaction to the candidates night. A large group of people, both Dems and Republicans, showed up to meet the four candidates. For this it confirmed what many say that local elections are personal, not political and that the process works here because regardless of where you are statewide and nationally, voters in Cranbury elect the individuals who are best for Cranbury.

Rob Christopher, Eman El-Badawi, Glenn Johnson and Barbara Rogers each presented a short intro to who they are and why they were running. Then the floor was opened to questions and each of the candidates gave their perspective and ideas on the particular topic. Topics included taxes, warehouse development, growing the Business District, Communications, expanding Community involvement Sustainability, Cultural awareness. There was also discussion of two topics recently on peoples minds, development on Route 130 and potential development on Halsey Reed Road. One resident questioned a policy of limiting public input time at TC meetings. A young member of the audience spoke eloquently encouraging a greater interaction between the TC and the school to allow students a better understanding of Civics on their local level. While on may topics all four candidates had similar opinions, it was clear that there is a choice to be made by the voters this year.

For those of you unable to attend, we did record the evening and will be posting the recording on our Facebook page - Cranbury Democratic Organization - in the next day or two. The video worked just fine but the audio is a bit weak so we are working on improving that part of it. We will also be editing out a short break we took in the middle of the evening but the total active debate will be presented without editing. (when there is a camera and there are teenagers in the room, it was hard for them to avoid their time on the show but probably not what you are all looking for in your candidate research.

Please also check in on our Facebook page for updates from the candidates
