|
|
Last year, there were some concerns raised about the response times of the Cranbury 1st Aid Squad and several residents strongly suggested that a fully paid squad would be more efficient. Some people even went so far as to imply that Cranbury is putting lives at risk by not going to a fully paid squad.
To be sure, the health and safety of Cranbury residents should be a top priority. However, the facts presented showed that Cranbury 1st Aid response times were faster than the average paid squad in New Jersey. On a personal note, I was recently is an accident and it took a half hour for either South Brunswick or Monroe to respond.
I’m not suggesting we have a perfect system. However, I do believe we should be grateful for the service of the people in our Cranbury 1st Aid Squad (especially in these challenging times) and we should endeavor to get them the tools and resources they need to continue doing a great job and to continue to get better every day. |

Great post.
With Covid these individuals are putting their lives and family’s lives on the line. Many of our responders are over 40 so at increased risk. They deserve our thanks at this time. |

What about the calls they never even make it too. Stats, times, and numbers are all doctored |

Prove your accusation. Otherwise stop the flaming especially now when they may be needed the most. |

Calls are logged by the dispatcher which is independent and the state verified the accuracy. The squad cannot manipulate when a call comes in or when they radio leaving or on scene. They have reported times to the TC as well.
It is really in poor taste as the whole world is facing a dangerous virus to question the ethics or effort of these volunteers. These responders are not only putting themselves, but their families in danger. We do owe them respect. |

What agency dispatches them? How can Someone opra request this information and verify it? That should put an end to the distasteful questions |

Call town hall and file an OPRA with the clerk. But please do not do it now when town hall is trying to get everything in place to keep the town running. |

I hate to see the naysayers attack our first aid squad again. Unfortunately, my household had two very serious incidents, and the first aid squad was excellent in both their response time and care. They have my wholehearted thanks and appreciation! |
