Census Takers Visiting Non-Responsive Homes
Census operations in Middlesex County are overseen by the Trenton & South Plainfield, NJ Area Census Offices (ACO). Starting July 30th, census takers began visiting homes throughout the communities covered by these ACOs to collect responses from households that had not yet filled out the census form. However, households that have not yet responded can still go on-line or call toll-free at any time through October 31st to give their answers, so that a census taker doesn't have to visit. Visit the Census Bureau's website for information on how to identify a census taker, how to report suspected fraud, and the Nonresponse Follow-up operation. Note that in-person visits in the Trenton ACO are starting ahead of the nationwide start of this operation on August 11.
