Police Advisory - Online Scams
POLICE ADVISORY:
Be wary of recent online scams and be alert for unscrupulous contractors soliciting to perform work on houses in the area.
Cranbury Police have been alerted to an online scam. The email of one of our Cranbury board members has been compromised and several requests were sent to solicit purchases of Apple gift cards. Please be advised, do not fall victim to this scam. Do not purchase gift cards or supply personal information if requested.
Additionally, with the warmer weather, be wary of unscrupulous contractors soliciting to perform home repair types of jobs. Some residents reported recent solicitations. Use due diligence in picking someone to perform house repairs. Check with the "BBB" to see if the home repair company is registered. Sign contracts for work to be completed. Report suspicious incidents to the Police.
