Why is the TC burying the budget hearing? The Mayor sets the agenda so why is he not making this the first thing. Is he hoping that people will not want to stay the whole meeting?
Look I don't think the current TC is particularly experienced and have yet to prove themselves, but the idea that they are burying the budget is off the wall. These guys are trying to deal with a tough problem and some of them are just now realizing how tricky this job is. I don't for a second believe they are trying to be sneaky or pull a fast one. Why do you think they are?
I don't think the TC is, I think the Mayor is trying to make a soap box. I've attended all the meetings recently and it seems the Mayor continually tries to go his own.

The TC does not set the agenda, the mayor alone does. Also, if you look at past budget meetings the hearing would take place first to allow for public comment and allow residents to leave so they would not have to stay.

Funny thing about the previous poster's comment about burying the issue....this agenda follows the same general format of pretty much all TC meetings.
Outside of Work Session item 8b, I'll bet the agenda preceding the budget discussion will take 30 min or less. So I don't buy the conspiracy theory that TC is hiding the budget discussion by placing the public hearing in the normal place on the agenda - in black and white for all to see.
Just curious....will you go and participate in the discussion?!?!

Discussion of Capital Ordinances The Township Committee will discuss various Capital Ordinances. This will be an interesting discussion. I heard this issue was the souce of some debate during a recent budget meeting, with the mayor feeling there is money available in a capital account that could be freed up. The administrator did not believe this was the case.
