Stop with the silly soundbites - I doubt he or anyone else wakes up and says "gee, I don't want to see these pesky kids get educated."

The current system is expensive and often produces poor results consistently in some areas. Looking at more effective measures is a responsibility I'd hope elected officials embrace.
