Hey all, Mr. Stinson runs a chess club at school but only invites 3rd grade plus. I taught my 2nd grade girl and soon to be kindergarden boy how to play and am wondering if there are any other kids around the same ages that they could play with. Both my kids understand how the pieces move, and the 2nd grader has some very basic tactics (is around 900 strength, if that means anything to you), so there would be some modest ability gap if someone has just learned and not completely mastered how the pieces move, but it could still be tried. Would also consider paying an older more advanced girl (if there is anyone that fits that bill) for lessons on the days where she would otherwise have to stay in basc.
