I hope that previous employers were contacted and supplied appropriate, positive references. A one-year contract checked carefully by an experienced Board Attorney is critical.
Previous experiences should serve as a warning
A one year contract is illegal in New Jersey.

I'm sure the school board could care less about the quality of the new principal and did not do any research or due diligence. Are you serious? This search has been going on since the summer. Gotta love armchair quarterbacks, especially those who try to inflate their fictive credentials with a username like "educator." I'm sure you are, honey.

Post subject: new school administrator
From the Board of Education today:
On behalf of the Board of Education, I am pleased to announce that the Cranbury Township
Board of Education has appointed Susan Genco, PhD as Chief School Administrator/Principal of
the Cranbury School. Dr. Genco comes to us with experience in K-8 and K-12 suburban districts
that have highly valued student achievement, encouraged service learning, supported visual and
performing arts and enhanced gifted education.
Dr. Genco began her educational career as a school psychologist in the Hazlet School District
and later became a supervisor of curriculum/instruction and special services at Spring Lake
Heights Elementary School in Spring Lake Heights, New Jersey.
Currently, she serves as the principal of Emma Havens Young Elementary School in Brick, New
Jersey, and had previously served as principal of Drum Point Road Elementary School, also in
Brick. Dr. Genco earned her doctorate in educational leadership from Rowan University and
believes strongly in global education, service learning and constructivism.
Dr. Genco possesses all of the leadership qualities that one needs to succeed in the dual role of
Chief School Administrator and Principal and exhibits a true love for children. The Board
believes that Dr. Genco will be a good fit to Cranbury School and will add something special to
our community. We look forward to working together with Dr. Genco on our path to excellence,
and hope you will join us in offering a warm Cranbury welcome when she assumes the role of
CSA/Principal in July.
