The vehicle had struck a utility pole, causing a brief power outage to Cranbury residents, and came to rest in the middle of Rt. 130 cathcing fire. The driver was able to remove himself from the vehicle and was transported to an area hospital. Engine 48-1 arrived and quickly extiguished the fire, standing by until it could be removed from the highway. Two additional calls were recieved for fire alarms due to the power outage, one covered by Station 42.
