With a magnifying glass one needs to read the scant Library Board Meeting Agendas to find news & facts. To verify that data one then must wait MONTHS for the publication of the required Meeting Minutes of those meetings to be posted on Cranbury Public Library website. One may ask; why is the Library Board so secretive of it's plans & actions AND why does the TC permit so little transparency? Because Cranbury taxpayers do not hold either the TC or Library Board accountable for the large sums of tax money spent and\or squandered by the Library Board. Why do taxpayers accept such vague and opaque legal documents from local public entities? So here we are. "CRANBURY PUBLIC LIBRARY BOARD OF TRUSTEES MEETING MINUTES Thursday, October 13, 2022, 7:00 p.m Personnel – “Onboarding” – PThomsson announced the hiring of Brooke Basista as the new Cranbury Library Director. She will start on Monday, November 14th . She will also attend the Donor Gala with her husband on November 3rd. " from CPL website Congratulations to Ms Basista. Good Luck in your new role. However one will note that standard protocol of public employee job announcements also disclose the salary of the new hire, especially at the senior level of Director. The Library Board does not follow that protocol. It seems it is more important for taxpayers to know gala attendance. wake up citizens! it's happening with most municipal public institutions but it is especially egregious with this Library Board.
When MAGA Republicans can't even win one seat on the TC, this is their response - name calling - ignoring facts - creating fake news
We are lucky that an educated honest Cranbury majority can see through all their foolish anonymous posts
What are you doing? Name calling. You are just as bad as the other.
When you see a Let's Go Brandon Sign in the middle of town, then yeah.....MAGA Republicans is totally game

Is it really standard that most people employee hire announcements list the salary in the announcement?
I assume you have a bunch of examples?
The poster you are trying to respond to is right. It’s a public position so it’s public knowledge. So yes it’s standard.
Terrific. Then you can link to some of the press releases too.

Not a press release or an announcement. But nice try...
No not a press release. Offical government site that lists government salaries. The library director is listed on this site. Not sure what you need a press release for when you have a official government site.
I don't need anything. I never cared about the salaries. But two posters suggested that it was unusual that the announcement of the new library director didn't include the salary in the announcement. I asked them to demonstrate that including the salary in the announcement was typical and they of course went silent because they couldn't.
In any event, I doubt a site with 6 year old salaries would satisfy them when they wanted the comp of the new director. Even then, I doubt they ever cared about it, they just wanted to make up some conspiracy.

Post subject: Re: Library Director
Two posters above specifically claimed that it is standard protocol to include the salary in the announcements of the new hires. Not that the information is public somewhere, but specifically in the announcements. It was a criticism that the story about the Cranbury library director did not include the salary suggesting it was unusual that it didn't.
So the posters should be able to provide plenty of examples of this in an announcement of a new hire, or its not credible that it is "standard." I just browsed the first 5 pages of Google results of a bunch of announcements of library directors in NJ and not one of the press releases or articles listed the salary.
Interesting that those posters have gone silent. Seems like they enjoy making things up more than they enjoy actually being asked to prove their made up claims.

Post subject: Re: Library Director
I'm not sure that anyone should expect the library board to include salary information in a press release about a new hire. However, the board could certainly stand to be more transparent in general. For those interested, I believe the last librarian made around $100,000 per year plus benefits.

Ask Mr. Ferrante what the salary is---he is the gate keeper. This Library board is a rogue group that wants to keep the public in the dark!
