Post subject: Re: Prayers for 2 Year Old Amelia
It was on the 4th that Amelia gained her first independence by taking her first steps and walking. It was this independence day holiday that someone donated a kidney for her, and gave her independence from dialysis machines.
Please say a prayer for the donor in church today, my family is in your debt.

Mostly out of danger now, but is on list to get a new Kidney next. My sis has been in/out of the hospital because the catheters had problems, usually a child only needs one. Lil Amelia had 6 so far and problems with the dialysis. She's been very sick when the equipment desnt filter her blood correctly. Its hard with a 3yr old (she just had a birthday last week) Now its just dealing with the equipment problems till she finds a donor kidney.
Thanks for your prayers, she's making it through very very rough times and should be here to enjoy the 5th of july in Cranbury. I hope.

Please say an extra prayer this weekend for my 2 year old niece Ameila Rowniewski from Wallington NJ. A spunky completely healthy child - who just the middle of last week became sick with the flu which quickly developed into pneumonia. On Monday she was taken to Hackensack hospital and is being treated for Streptococcus pneumoniae. On Tuesday she has been placed in the ICU. The antibiotics are not working fast enough to help her little body to bounce back. Currently, her situation has negatively progressed and now is also being treated for HUS (Hemolytic-uremic syndrome) due to kidney failure and her red blood cell count which has prompted a blood transfusion and dialysis.
We are hopeful due to a clean CAT scan that was done on Monday that meningitis will not rear its ugly head (which Streptococcus pneumoniae can be a contributor). Currently, she is too weak to undergo a spinal tap to rule out meningitis.
This flu bug has spread to the rest of our family - nieces, nephews, mothers, fathers, aunts, uncles, grandparents. It's tough to get over especially if you are dealing with an immunosuppressed disorder. I urge you, if you get this flu, see your doctor.
In the meantime, all prayers are needed for Amelia. Her life has not yet begun and its too early for her to leave this earth.
Ed and I thank you Cranbury in advance for your prayers.
