My suggestion is to drop in a few vegetable seeds somewhere between right field and center field on the new baseball field. Since nobody uses the field the seeds won't get bothered. And we certainly know the field is well irrigated.
Perhaps some carrots and cucumbers?

Aah, the old community garden. This issue pops up every few years. Rarely is it sincere. Usually it is brought up by a person or a group to try to change some land usage. When a the township would debate a certain tract of land, say the West or Wright properties, the community garden would be thrown in the mix as another reason to purchase. Most recently it was used to block the reforrestation of Hagerty, "why this should be our community garden."
The only voice I have heard on this that was sincere was Connie Bauder. For a number of years, she brought this up at TC and Planning board meetings. Basically they smiled nicely and ignored her.
The problem I see is there are few good places for gardens. I think the TC has so preserved Wright and West through environmental and recreational designations that gardens would not be allowed. That sort of leaves the Haggerty and Fischer properties which are on the edge of town.

Can we have a similar one here in Cranbury?
It depends, do you want to spear head the effort or sit around waiting for someone else to do it? I think it sounds great but who will get the ball rolling?
Who do you want to meet in this garden?
