These types of things are what makes Cranbury special. Hopefully, the parents of students who ride the bus will take the time to get to know the new bus drivers. If they do, I'm sure the bus drivers will start to notice if the parent is there. However, it is not the drivers responsibility to make sure there is an adult present. That is the parents responsibility. Hopefully, parents at bus stops watch out for all the children, not just their own.

Also I have observed on the first two days the bus Driver does not wait at drop off to see that someone is there for the children at drop off. As soon as the kids are out the door the bus is gone. The old bus drivers used to wait and make sure they saw someone they recognized before they would leave.

This morning the school bus was about 10 minutes late, and our stop is the first stop!

I am not sure if everyone is aware or not, however we have a new bus company this year. My guess is we changed company's as a cost savings? If anyone knows the details then I would be interested to find out more.

This morning I observed the new driver for our route did not check to see if children getting on the bus were buckled in their seats before driving away. I believe they are supposed to do that and I know the old drivers with the other company always used to make sure the children were secure before allowing the bus to move.

Hopefully the oversight was only a "Day One" issue and going forward the drivers will check to see the children are secure in their seats before closing the doors and driving away.
