It's works quite well. I bought a refurbished one from Amazon for about $120. I emailed Garmin support to get the latest 2010 map installed on the device free of charge. So far, it works quite well; the satellite signal acquisition time is fast and re-routing is also fast.

Garmin allows one free map update within 60 days of purchase. The latest 2010 map update had been available for purchase since mid-May ($43 on Amazon now). So if your Garmin does not have the 2010 map, make sure you register your GPS with Garmin (https://my.garmin.com/mygarmin/marketing/register.htm) and connect it using a USB cable to your computer for the free map update.

If you bought a refurbished one, the free map update may not be available because the previous buyer had used the device before, thus exceeding the 60-day limit. Don't worry. Just call the help line 1-800-800-1020 and email them your purchase confirmation email (e.g., from Amazon). They will fix it and allow you to update the map.

Amazon has a good price for this excellent GPS unit (255W; can speak street name):

The refurbished unit is about $130 (Free shipping, no tax in NJ).

The new unit is about $170 (Free shipping, no tax in NJ).
