I saw my neighbor did that to his old play structure a few days ago. You just leave it near the curb and schedule a pickup (of cause, have your credit card ready when you call.

I saw people leaving furniture, baby stuff, etc. near the dumpsters there. Some discarded items were picked up by the "poor" students living nearby. So, if you are willing to drive the couch to Rutgers Busch campus in Piscataway, this is one idea.
