Spoiled in that people want to walk/drive 2 minutes to engage in fine dining. Sometimes the journey is part of the experience.
Get out of Cranbury once in a while........there is a BIG world out there beyond Main Street!!!!!!!! |

I think you have it backwards. How is it spoiled to be content to eat simply and locally and not require a huge production and travel to do so because, seemingly, one has to go "to the City" to get decent food?
We find more than enough perfectly pleasant choices to look forward to locally. There are more fine options that our "spoiled" budget affords us the opportunity to dine in as it is since the typical meal is made at home... |
I don't know.
Maybe, the world's greatest city has the world's greatest chefs and the world's greatest restaurants!!!!!! |
Perhaps. But how is it "spoiled" if someone is willing to live without that? Wouldn't it be "spoiled" if the person instead insisted they couldn't settle for anything else? |

Haven't checked it out yet but heard that our very own "Teddy's" is improving it's look and menu to stay relevant. Any reviews?? I always look forward to their Spana Kopita-spinach pies on Cranbury Day! |

There has never been a restuarant in the history of man that my wife would consider worth the hassle of going into NYC and back. She hates the entire grueling experience, and I can't blame her. I'm stuck with doing it almost every day for work, and the last thing I would consider enjoyable is doing it again just to eat... Keep in mind you have to get back too, so you're likely talking 3 hours of travel time counting the 30+ it will likely take you each way once you get through the tunnel to actually get where you want to go and find parking. |

It's only 45 minutes away!!!!! |
... If you're driving about 25 miles over the speed limit and go on one of those rare times where there's no traffic... More typically, about double that. |
and add gas, tolls, and $50 parking to that too. |

Not too far away, I consider Cafe Capuano my favorite local neighborhood restaurant, in the strip mall off of Old Trenton Rd in East Windsor. White tablecloths, BYOB, best house salad and Chicken Capuano only $16. Great. In Princeton, Nassau Street Seafood for fish, the newly renovated luxury restaurant Peacock Inn, and the Ferry House on Witherspoon are also pretty great. And then there's Lambertville..... |

I frankly wish we had more good places to eat in our lil town, other then the Inn, Teddy, Pizza and BR. I'm bored of the same ol same old. Maybe I should start another thread about other good places to go in the area.
I can start it off with my favorate place in princeton, Blue Point Grill is a 5 star place for me. |
Two of the best places I have been to in Princeton are both very expensive, be warned they are very very very expensive but for a special occasion they are both incredible. If you're looking for a place that is unforgeable, try ELEMENTS on RT 206.
Lahares is a great French eatery and is a bit less expensive and also nice, neither is a BYOB so expect a large bar bill also. But they are both well worth a visit if you have a special occasion. |

Blue Point Grill (Princeton) is great. Fiddleheads in Jambsburg is another superb local BYOB. |
Another great one nearby is Luchento's Ristorante- on Rt 33
520 New Jersey 33, Perrineville, NJ
Awesome Creole food and BYOB, but I havent been back since they remodeled, but I do plan to go tomorrow, so I will post an update if it has changed. |
