I think this should be required teaching with so many families impacted. Schools have always glossed over recent history. The history classes usually run out of time and the books usually have very little on recent events. When I was in HS in the late '80's the Vietnam War and Watergate were barely acknowledged. The Israeli-Palestinian conflict wasn't even mentioned slightly. Not saying that's right or wrong, but its been a consistent pattern.

A big thank you ought to go out to whoever is responsible for the idea. We must never forget that fateful day.
