I've always understood that James did live there for a period in 1956. Does the writer know where James lived if not at 38 South Main St? Perhaps he rented 38 from the Taylors?

He was the journalist who was on the successful climb of Mt Everest in 1953 and reported the ascent back to England on the day of the Queen's Coronation.
