http://www.nj.com/middlesex/index.ssf/2013/06/former_middlesex_county_sheriff_pleads_guilty_to_bribery_charge.html
FREEHOLD — Former Middlesex County Sheriff Joseph Spicuzzo pleaded guilty to bribery this afternoon, admitting that he offered jobs in his office for cash.
Under the plea agreement with the State Attorney Generals' Office, the 67-year-old former Democratic Party boss and sheriff will face 9 years in state prison, two of which must be served before he is eligible for parole. He also must forfeit his right to public employment and his pension.
Spicuzzo was charged with accepting bribes of $10,000 to $25,000 for jobs and promotions in his department. He served 30 years as sheriff, retiring in Dec. of 2010. He was also the longtime chairman of the Middlesex County Democratic organization.
