Just cruious... <br /> <br />I absolutely think they are baiting posts, looking for attention or a response... <br /> <br />That said, I don't agree with your opinion on Sarah Palin's appeal. Self sufficiency is a nice buzz word. I am all for it. But Palin's base is clearly not even Christian's as a whole but Evangelical Christains and other hardcore supporters of hot button issues like preventing any form of gun control or abortion. What makes her controversial for many other people, including many Christians, is her specific views that are not maintsream, such as wanting to force public schools to teach "intelligent design" (which would be a clear violation of church and state and pass a theological notion (it doesn't even tecnically qualify as a theory) off as science), her willingness to consider State censoring content that her church doesn't agree with, her continued support of a radical pastor who believes that anyone who is not a Republican is evil and that anyone who doesn't support Bush is going to Hell or her opposition to reasonable restrictions on guns like preventing just anyone from acquiring assault rifles. You can be all for self sufficiency and not care at all about her "experience" or lack thereof and still be troubled by the idea of such a person being in the ultimate position of authority. This is why she is polaizing even within her own party.
