New Jersey Clean Communities Council International Coastal Cleanup
The DEP Office of Local Government Assistance would like to notify you about the upcoming New Jersey Clean Communities Council International Coastal Cleanup this September.
The 29th International Coastal Cleanup will take place on September 20th to clean rivers, lakes, streams and beaches and collect data on the kinds of trash found. In 2013, 648,000 volunteers in 92 countries picked up more than 12.3 million pounds of trash. The ICC Cleanup is organized by Ocean Conservancy, and in the past four years, has been hosted by the Clean Communities Council in New Jersey. The ICC Cleanup also begins the fall cleanup season.
We need your help to find locations that need to be cleaned and volunteers to clean them! Please register and encourage your towns and volunteers to register at
www.njclean.org
. When you register, please include all of your fall cleanups now through December 31.
