Michael,
Thank you for everything you and the volunteers are doing. I don't think most people would ever think of getting in the lake let alone go in the lake voluntarily to plan for someone who is testing the Darwin theory. I hope you all took some Imodium
after doing that drill.
I saw the article below on Tapinto this morning.
https://www.tapinto.net/towns/south-brunswick-cranbury/articles/cranbury-fire-company-conducts-ice-rescue-traini
As residents we need to remember these people aren't paid and are doing this in their own time to protect the residents. I am not a volunteer as I don't have time, but I am very thankful to you all on many levels.
A paid Fire Co. would be extremely expensive. We have 17 fantastic police officers, you can't get away with just 17 firefighters on duty and I imagine they would be paid equal to police so a paid fire co would be very expensive both in wages, benefits and equipment.
If people complain about a library cost, then imagine the costs of a paid Fire Co.

The Cranbury Fire Co. along with some members of neighboring departments were training in ice rescue. No emergency today and we hope that day never comes, but we'll be ready if it does.
Thanks,
Michael

Post subject: Lake today
I saw people in the lake today and what looked like a fire truck. Anyone know what happened?
