Ed and Nancy,
Thank you very much for your support and consideration. It is amazing to think that Dan and I filed in March, went hrough the primary and now here we are on November 3.
I hope we were able to connect with our fellow residents and that they felt our core issues were in line with your concerns.
We worked hard attending almost every TC meeting the last 2 years and meetings in our prior towns. Dan and I developed action plans that we hope will help our residents:
1) save money- reviewing services, putting our financials in each news letter, investigating rate increases and pushing back on items like the sewer.
2) help our town to be safer from speeding- working with each neighborhood on their specific issues
3) we established solid relationships in Trenton to pave the way for the fight on COAH and consolidation. Bill Baroni and the two assembly candidates Rob and Bill have been active here in Cranbury and highlighting our cause.
I also hope Dan and I demonstrated that we will listen to residents and value your input on issues.
It does take both Dan and I winning to enact these action plans and I am hopeful that people will give us a chance. As we mentioned in our letter last week. Dan and I have long time roots to town, but because we lived elsewhere in the recent past we bring a fresh perspective. One reason we did not stress those roots during the campaign that heavily is because we feel that should not be the indicator on whether someone is qualified. I don't feel because my family was here in 1702 that I have any more right than someone who moved in yesterday to raise a concern or be heard. Each resident is as important as the other.
We believe Cranbury is a community and that means keeping Cranbury affordable for young families to come in and be part of our town and for our retired residents to afford to stay in town and be active contributors.
Thank you Ed, Nancy and all others who are considering us today. Please remember that all votes count.
All the best,
Jay

Post subject: We endorse Dan Mulligan and Jay Taylor for Cranbury Town Council
Looking forward to seeing my Cranbury neighbors at the voting booths tomorrow. We all know Cranbury has its own crises with the highest COAH burden, municipal consolidation fears, and escalating spending. My wife and I attended many TC meetings and have had the privilege of meeting the candidates and talking to them afterwards about the important issues facing Cranbury this past year. There are three critical reasons that electing Dan Mulligan and Jay Taylor into the TC will make our local government and TC stronger in these uncertain times ahead. Nancy and I hope you would let us share our critical reasons with you, and please do your own due diligence. Our top differentiators why in this years election Cranbury needs to vote both Dan and Jay into the Cranbury Town Council.
1) When we moved to Cranbury over 11yrs ago, the TC meetings were about issues, every TC member was trying to do the right thing for Cranbury and the citizens that live here. Party politics never played a role, you would read an article on the meeting minutes about a session and it talked about how members of the same political party voted against each other, and why. It wasn’t all about the Republicans or Democrats voting together as a block on every issue, it was 5 neighbors doing what they thought was right for Cranbury. They voted for Cranbury first, not by political party. That unfortunately had change in the past few years and the Cranbury TC got very political, you can read on this BBS about how the TC votes together by party lines. You can read about how the current majority has closed door meetings and locks out some past and present members from important meetings. This should not be tolerated in Cranbury politics and we will not support this kind of attitude in our local government. Both Dan and Jay have attended many of the TC meetings when we showed up, they were doing this way before they were running for any office. They voice there opinions in these meetings, they both do it with a good grasp of the topics and they have made many good contributions to the TC discussion over the years. You can read all about them on this very forum. If we elect them both to the TC they will bring a good balance together with Win Cody to our local government in Cranbury.
2) When it comes to the all important state issues like COAH and CONSOLIDATION, we are even more encouraged to go with both Dan and Jay. Dan and Jay were the first to contact the editor of the Cranbury Press and took him to task when they kept encouraging consolidation; they have been talking about this issue for over two years (see link below).
When it comes to COAH, we all agree that COAH is bad, both sides are the same here, or are they? If John Corzine somehow gets reelected tomorrow god-forbid, our only friend in the State will be Senator Baroni. He has asked Cranbury to send a message to Trenton and elect both Jay and Dan into office to help him with the right local support in Cranbury to make his points in Trenton. I respect Bill Baroni I want to give him all the Cranbury support he needs to fight the good fight in Trenton and fix COAH.
3) Finally Dan and Jay are fiscally conservatives and both have lived in towns other than Cranbury. Before moving to Canbury they have experienced many of the same issues facing us. Jay has explained to me at a TC meeting about the dire effects on the schools and taxs due to massive residential growth in his former Robinsville. And he saw first hand the cost and impact of losing a shared High School relationship with Robbinsville and will do everything in his powers to keep our Cranbury/Princeton HS relationship if its threatened. They both have young children that they want to send to our fine schools in Cranbury. I know they will work hard as local officials to ensure Cranbury’s character and energy. So Nancy and I are voting for both Dan Mulligan and Jay Taylor because they are the right Cranberians for the job.
