Another closed session? Our tax dollars pay the fees for these services. We can get through open records the charges for these firms and who bidded. There is no reason for the firms to be in closed session. They are outside contractors. I can understand not having the public interview or ask questions of the candidates. However, why can't the puiblic listen to the questions being asked and hear the response? We are a town and as such should be allowed to hear the interviews. The TC should want to encourage this open dialogue to demonstrate to the residents that they are looking for the best firms. In closed session it will allow residents to think the worst.
I agree if the individual is representing a firm, it should be open. Their company knows that person is here interviewing. For some positions, it's possible that the interviewee is still employed, and does not want his/her current employer to know about the interview, and then I think that closed session is appropriate.
